What is an all-star member?

An all-star member are Puckosphere.com paid members.  Puckosphere.com All-stars gain the following benefits:

  • -Have your posts show up on the Puckosphere.com main page as well as the Puckosphere.com facebook and twitter accounts giving your blog access to more traffic.
  • -Ability to have their own domain name for their blog along with email addresses for that domain.
  • -An additional 2 gigabytes of storage space for pictures, audio and video files for use in their blog.  This should be lots enough for all bloggers.  Non-allstar members get 50MB which should be enough for bloggers that do not use much video, audio or pictures in their blog posts.
  • -Ad free blogs.  As mentioned above, for non all-star members Puckosphere.com reserves the right to post ads within you blog, above and/or below your blog posts.  All-star members can have these ads removed.
  • -Use your own theme or request a wordpress plugin be installed.  If you have the technical ability to do so, you can create your own wordpress theme so you can have a custom blog design.  You can also request a wordpress plug-in be installed and will will install it for you so long as it is compatible with our currently installed system.

How much does it cost?

The cost of becoming an all-star blogger is as follows:

  1. $4.95 on a monthly subscription
  2. 12.95 on a quarterly (3 month) subscription
  3. 39.95 on an annual subscription

Puckosphere.com believes these prices are extremely reasonable and comparable to even the cheapest web hosts.

I am an all-star, how do I use my own domain?

To use your own domain you need to do the following steps:

  1. If you do not already have a domain registered, register one with your favourite domain registar.  A couple of registrars that I have used or can recommend are GoDaddy.com and NamesPro.ca but there are hundreds, if not thousands to choose from.
  2. Set your nameservers to point to  ns1.uhcloud.com and ns2.uhcloud.com with your registrar.  If you are unsure how to do this, your registrar should be able to help.
  3. Log in to your puckosphere.com account and access the dashboard and go to the Tools->Domain Mapping tab and add a custom domain for your new domain name.
  4. Send an e-mail to admin@puckosphere.com and we will make the additional changes to our servers that are required to make it all work.
  5. If you want, e-mail addresses set up for your domain e-mail admin@puckosphere.com with the details of the addresses you want set up (up to 10 e-mail addresses only).

Note:  It can take up to 48 hours for your domain name and dns server changes to propagate through the internet and for us to make the server changes.

I am an all-star, how do I use my own theme?

If you have the technical know-how to design your own theme send a .zip file containing the theme to admin@puckosphere.com and usually within 48 hours we will make it available for use through the Appearance->Premium Themes tab.  Note: It will be possible for other Puckosphere.com all-star members to use your theme if they so desire.

I am an all-star, how do I request a plug-in be installed?

Simply e-mail admin@puckosphere.com the name and the download location of the plug-in you want installed and after we review the plug-in for compatibility and robustness we will install it for you or provide you a reason as to why it cannot be installed.
