Recipe for Failure?

There is a story going around today that Brett Hull is attempting to put together a group to purchase the Dallas Stars from fianancially troubled owner Tom Hicks and that Hull is trying to get Wayne Gretzky and Mike Modano on board.  My question is this:  Is that a recipe for disaster?  Lets look at the evidence.
1.  Brett Hull’s tenure as a co-GM of the Dallas stars was a failure with reports being that Hull didn’t have the work ethic to be a successful GM.
2.  Wayne Gretzky’s tenure in Phoenix was at best a modest failure and at worst might

Don’t Panic

The Kings’ return from the Olympic break started out nicely with a good thumping of Dallas, improving upon the Kings’ already stellar record in their own division. On that night, Jon Quick set a new record for victories in a single season by a King goaltender with 36. With the amount of remaining games, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Quick finishes the season with 45 or more wins, if the Kings manage to play .500 hockey for the remaining 18 games.
