Kings (and fans) to Kovalchuk: “Suck It!”

October 31, 2010 in Uncategorized by Jeremy Smith

If you paid any attention to the Kings during this past offseason, Ilya Kovalchuk’s name should be very familiar to you by now. Kovalchuk, who was considered the most dymanic player available via free agency during the Summer of 2010, was courted by the Kings, flown to Los Angeles and offered a 13 year, 80 [...]

New Jersey Devils top three coaching options

May 14, 2010 in puckosphereallstars by other

Now that former Devils and Wild coach Jacques Lemaire has retired, the New Jersey Devils find themselves looking for a new coach.
In the last 2 seasons the Devils coaches have been Brent Sutter and Jacques Lemaire who both coach a defensive game. Both coaches had great regular seasons and lost in the first round of the playoffs. Also, Jacques Lemaire missed the playoffs before he came to New Jersey. As for Brent Sutter he missed the playoffs the year after the Devils fired him.
Don’t get me wrong defense is important but should

The New Jersey Devils top 3 prospects

May 11, 2010 in puckosphereallstars by other

In no order I am going to take a look at the New Jersey Devils top 3 prospects.
LW Mattias Tedenby – Mattias Tedenby’s game is all about speed and skill. Mattias has represented Sweden in the World Juniors a couple of times and came up with a few highlight reel plays. Mattias is not your typical New Jersey Devil as he is mostly only offensive minded and has been questioned because of his limited defensive ability and small size but that is nothing the Devils coaching staff can’t fix. When Mattias becomes a

Devils off-season wish list

April 24, 2010 in puckosphereallstars by other

With another poor post-season in the books many Devils fans believe it is time for change….I am one of them, here is my off-season wish list.
1. Fire Jacques Lemaire, He is a great coach and can run a great defensive system however, come playoff time everyone steps up their defense. So if you are a defensive team you don’t have the advantage. Look at the Sabres for example, they are another high seed who is having trouble due to their system.
2. Hire Guy Carbonneau as his replacement, I have always liked him and

Devils get good news, Gagne and Carter injured

April 21, 2010 in puckosphereallstars by other

This series has just went from almost out of reach to a few inches away. The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that Forward Simon Gagne will miss the next 3 weeks and Jeff Carter will be out until at least late next round (if they make it) as a Devils fan I was just trying to stay positive and it was hard. Now I have something to be positive about (as a Devils fan of course). 10% of the time the team that is down 3-1 in a series wins well for the Devils the

Devils outplay Flyers, lose 2-1

April 15, 2010 in puckosphereallstars by other

The New Jersey Devils played a very solid game yesterday, the only problem they had was the powerplay. In 6 attempts the New Jersey Devils failed to score just one and if they had of done so, they would have likely won however, they didn’t and in reality they lost and are down 1-0 in the series.
The next game is KEY for the Devils, if they lose they will be down 2-0 and heading to Philly….not how you want to start but if the Devils win the next game they will have the
