With game 7 of the Canadiens, Penguins series set to go tonight, I am going to tell you my 3 x-factors that must step up for the Canadiens to win.
1. Hal Gill, he has been given the lovely task of trying to shutdown Sidney Crosby and the Penguins top line, though it hasn’t been easy he has done a fantastic job. Their is still work to be done. Hal Gill has held the Penguins captain to just 3 points in 5 games, all assists. When Hal was out of the lineup last game

Last night the Montreal Canadiens may have just lost more then the game.
In yesterday night’s game Canadiens defenseman Hal Gill’s leg was stepped on. Gill left the game and did not return. If Hal Gill is injured for an extended period of time (maybe even 1 game) the Montreal Canadiens could find themselves golfing. Last night the Montreal Canadiens played a great game and played as good or better then the Penguins all night, the difference in the game was just as simple as the Habs not getting a good bounce. However, it

Since the Devils have been eliminated I have taken it upon myself to contribute to the site and by doing so I have chosen to follow the Montreal Canadiens on their journey for the cup.
The Montreal Canadiens continued to shock most of the hockey world yesterday by taking game 4 and having the series tied at 2 a piece when many people believed that they would not make it past the first round. With the stellar play of goaltender Jaroslav Halak and the play of the shut down defensive pairing of Josh

Though all the talk has been about Jaroslav Halak who was outstanding especially in games 5, 6, and 7 their is a player who is flying under the radar. That player goes by the name of Hal Gill. Yes I know he is not the most popular player in the league but he has been outstanding for the Canadiens in the playoffs and has played a key part in the big comeback the Canadiens managed to pull off.
In the 1st round against the Capitals Hal Gill played on a line with Josh Gorges

Washington vs Montreal
Washington was the run away leader in the eastern conference finishing 18 points ahead of second place New Jersey and 33 points ahead of 8th place Montreal. Washington was a middle of the road defensive team but was a truly dominant offensive team scoring on average 3.75 goals per game, more than a half a goal per game more than the Canucks who were the second most offensive team and 1.24 goals per game more than the Canadiens who ranked 26th in the league. Montreal has next to no chance of winning this series unless Jaroslav

If you polled hockey fans who the top contenders are for the Stanley Cup, four of the most frequent answers you will get will be Washington and Pittsburgh from the eastern conference and San Jose and Chicago from the western conference. What these teams have in common are very good groups of offensive forwards with multiple star players and some pretty good defensemen to go with them. But what they also have in common are question marks in goal that they will have to overcome if they are to go deep into the playoffs.
